Brooklyn Half Marathon Road Closures and Route Map

Race Schedule

  • Start Times: The first wave of runners will start at 7 a.m., followed by the second wave at 8 a.m.
  • Bag Check: Opens at 5 a.m.
  • Security Screenings: Begin at 5:30 a.m.

Marathon Route

The 13.1-mile course will guide participants from the Brooklyn Museum, past the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, around Grand Army Plaza, through Prospect Park, and along Ocean Parkway to the Coney Island boardwalk.

Transportation Advisory

Participants and spectators are advised to use the N or Q lines from Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue after the race. Note that D and F trains will not be operating at that station on Saturday due to track maintenance and signal modernization.

  • West Brighton Avenue from Ocean Parkway to West Second Street
  • Sea Breeze Avenue from West Fifth Street to Ocean Parkway
  • West Fifth Street from Surf Avenue to West Brighton Avenue

6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

  • Empire Boulevard from Washington Avenue to Flatbush Avenue
  • Flatbush Avenue from Empire Boulevard to Grand Army Plaza

  • Surf Avenue from Ocean Parkway to West 20th Street

Note: Many streets will also be closed to parking starting Friday. Plan accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

  • Best Viewing Spots: Grand Army Plaza, Prospect Park, and the Coney Island Boardwalk offer excellent vantage points to cheer on the runners.
  • Arrival Times: Arrive early to secure the best spots. Roads close early, so plan your travel accordingly.
  • Transportation: Utilize public transportation as parking will be limited and streets closed. Remember the D and F lines are not available at Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue.
